This report provides evidence to support the National Park Service position in a water-rights protest. Death Valley National Monument was concerned about effects of proposed water withdrawals for development near Beatty, Nevada. Beatty is located within the Oasis Valley hydrographic sub-basin, which is part of the system including the Amargosa Desert (and Devils Hole), and ultimately Death Valley. Other sub-basins considered as part of the Death Valley system are Crater Flat, Fortymile Canyon, Rock Valley, and Mercury Valley. The report provides information on climate, hydrogeology, surface and ground-water hydrology, and water rights. Tables show groundwater recharge/discharge and perennial yield for basins near Death Valley.
