This report documents the analysis of the restoration of the prairie management units of George Washington Carver National Monument from the fall of 1981 to the summer of 1985. The document includes the objectives and philosophy of the analysis, a discussion on the prairie management units, soil classifications and pre-management practice descriptions and management recommendations. The methods used for the vegetational analysis, soil classification and analysis, and techniques used for monitoring the management are also included. The results of the pre-management and post-management vegetational sampling and soil finding are included in the results section. Soil classification and analysis, vegetational trends and future management programs are discussed as well as conclusions and recommendations. The appendices include aerial photographs of pre-management and post-management surveys for each unit surveyed. Artist's renderings of pre-management and post-management interpretations for each unit is included.
