This 1990 Technical Report was prepared by the Arctic Environmental Information and Data Center for the U.S. National Park Service. It addresses the issue of mixed wild and hatchery salmon interactions and consists of three parts. The first provides a summary of information on cultured and wild salmon stocks of the North Pacific, including their interactions and the consequences thereof. It also reviews management issues concerning mixed wild and hatchery stock and provides an overview of fisheries enhancement programs. Part 2 provides a synthesis of information on the Noatak River fishery. This part also reviews the history of the Sikusuilaq hatchery and presents an analysis of issues and concerns relating to it. Part 3 is an annotated bibliography with sections relating to general fishery management issues, genetics, and the Kotzebue District.
