Under the general supervision of Capt. C. E. Dutton, I have spent three field seasons in Northern California and Oregon among those complex groups of mountain ridges and ranges whose relation to one another have frequently been a subject of discussion, and it is in the hope of throwing some light upon the structure and connection of these ranges that I desire to note a few observations.
