Anatomy of a Transgression along the Southeastern Shore of Lake Michigan

Thompson TA. 1989. Anatomy of a Transgression along the Southeastern Shore of Lake Michigan. Journal of Coastal Research (JCR). 5(4):711-724

The paper describes the lateral and vertical arrangement of lithofacies created during the Nipissing Phase of Lake Michigan. Erosion at Toleston Beach, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore exposed the depositional-transgression deposits for study. The data was used to reconstruct the depositional history of the lakeshore.
