An unusual abundance of six species of tropical marine fishes at Port Aransas, TX is reported and correlated to sea water temperature. The warmer the water, the greater the occurance of these species. The six species reported on are the white mullet (Mugil curema); the gray snapper (Lutjanus griseus); the sand drum (Umbrina coroides); the snook (Centropomus undecimalis); the African pompano (Alesctis crinitus); and the tarpon (Megalops atlantica).
