Annotated check list of aquatic insects of Glen Canyon
Musser GG. 1958. Annotated check list of aquatic insects of Glen Canyon. Appendix E
The list is on pages 207-219 of an unidentified publication, and gives the results of collections made during a pre-dam 1958 survey, likely the last opportunity to discover and study the many varied aquatic insects found in this isolated region before inundation. A total of 2315 individual aquatic insects were collected and identified, comprising more than 91 species representing 73 genera, 41 families, and 8 orders. Most of the insects were collected from tributaries, and of the ones from the river, most of those were from the mouths of tributaries. These local ecological habitats and the indigenous aquatic insect fauna are now probably either lost or modified.
