Six carcasses collected along the coast of Katmai National Park and Aniakchak National Preserve between 11 July and 18 September 1989 were necropsied to determine if the deaths were related to the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Specimens included five species of sea birds and a porcupine. Preliminary diagnoses based on gross lesions were inconsistent. Histopathological, toxicological, microbiological, and parasitological analyses were pending at the time of publication.
