This research sought to elucidate patterns in distribution of plant species, soils, small mammals, reptiles, and other factors studied on 16 kipukas at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. Kipukas are islands of vegetation surounded by lava. Geographic location includes Craters of the Moon and Wapi lava flows.
