Proposes a study of chemical and mineralogic evolution of volcanic rocks in a 150 kilometer square area just south and east of Lassen Peak. A geologic field map of the area would be produced and used for petrological studies and for geochemical studies of thermal areas in Lassen Volcanic National Park by Geological Survey personnel.
