Annual Progress Report of the Research Project entitled The Flora and Vegetational Ecology of Isle Royale National Park
Janke RA. 1982. Annual Progress Report of the Research Project entitled The Flora and Vegetational Ecology of Isle Royale National Park. Houghton, MI
The main objective of this year's research was to study post-fire forest stands dominated by white birch, quaking aspen or by jack pine. The author is interested in determining what causative factors result in the establishment in one or another of these pioneer forest types and secondly, aimed at characterizing each forest type and in particular, at comparing the three types with regard to the attributes which result from their establishment. The summary portion of this report contains a listing of the attributes of each forest type. Another objective for this year's research was to continue the flora project which will eventually result in a complete annotated list of the vascular plants of ISRO.
