Enormous work consisting primarily of detailed descriptions and photographs of plants found in the Natchez Trace Parkway. Also includes a section on plant communities and plant successions on the parkway, and a sections on flowers fruits. There is an index to both scientific and common names. Notes in the foreword that specimens for each plant are stored in the Parkway's herbarium and in the National Museum in Washington DC.
