Appendix A in Pratt 1998 Vegetation Management Strategies for Three National Historical Parks on Hawai`i Island. Analyzed pollen from sediment at 'Aimakapa and Kaloko fishponds to determine historic vegetation. Both ponds are in Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park, HI. This brief report includes a 12-page list of species found in the cores. This project was designed to use the techniques of pollen analysis to investigate the vegetation history of the area surrounding Kaloko Fishpond, for the use of the Park Management Team as they restore the area to a more natural state. In the cousre of the project, we expanded the work to inlude 'Aimakapa Fishpond as well. Adding 'Aimkapa proved to be fortuitous, because it provided a more useful sedimentary record than Kaloko.
