This study involved capturing Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) that fell from the maternity colony along the Ruins Trail at Bandelier National Monument and analyzing the pesticide content of the tissues. Flight times was compared to precipitation, day length, and temperature. Other species of bats observed is included. The presence of rabies was originally proposed as part of the study, but was declined due to the number of animals that would need to be collected. The study also tested methods of banding and videotaping bats for data collection.
