This is the second in a series of reports concerning wolves in and adjacent to Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Between 28 March and 8 April 1987, 30 wolves were captured and radio-collared, and several biometric parameters were recorded from each. During April-December 1987, individual instrumented wolves were relocated 593 times. Approximate pack territory size and location is presented. During 1986-87 winter, 42 wolves were taken by residents of Anaktuvuk Pass. Of these, 31 came from within the boundaries of the Park. Necropsy data were obtained and are given in several tables. At the end of 1987, 25 of the original 30 radio-collared wolves were still within the study area, and a total of 114 wolves could be accounted for.
