Postfire tree mortality in relation to wildfire severity in mixed oak forests in the blue ridge of Virginia

Regelbrugge JC and Smith DW. 1994. Postfire tree mortality in relation to wildfire severity in mixed oak forests in the blue ridge of Virginia. Northern Journal Of Applied Forestry. 11(3):90-97

This study examined tree mortality in relation to fire severity in 1987 at the site of the 1986 Big Run Fire in Shenandoah National Park, VA. Study plots were located in areas of low fire severity and of high fire severity. From the data, models were developed which can predict species-specific post-fire mortality.
