Potential feedbacks of northern wetlands on climate change

Bridgham SD, Johnston CA, Pastor J, Updegraff K. 1995. Potential feedbacks of northern wetlands on climate change. BioScience. 45(4):262-274

Large changes in temperature and precipitation are predicted to occur over the next several decades at high latitudes, which may significantly impact northern wetlands. These changes in ecosystem and community processes may in turn have significant feedback effects on the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases. Discussions of GIS and beaver populations in Voyageurs National Park are included.
