Although this report was prepared primarily with regard to potential damage to the road and structures at Scotty's Castle, it also includes hydrological information about Grapevine and Tie canyons. The report briefly summarizes the geographic setting, and a section on flood hydrology provides equations based on regional southern California flood analyses. Estimated flood discharges are listed for 25, 50, and 100-year intervals. Charts show canyon cross-sections with potential water levels. Poorly consolidated rock in the canyon is expected to be readily moved with large amounts of water, creating hazards. Includes map folded into pocket showing the two canyons with contour intervals of 2 and 10 feet, and areas of potential flooding shaded for three levels of inundation.
