This report summarizes preliminary results of the Alaska Div. of Geological and Geophysical Surveys' geological mapping and mineral resource investigations in the Lake Clark quadrangle during 1977 and 1978. The bedrock geology of the west-central Lake Clark quadrangle is summarized on a map called plate 1. A geochemical sampling program was also conducted, with 130 pan concentrates, 325 stream sediment samples, and 81 rock chip samples collected and analyzed for mineral potential. Several mineralized zones containing copper, molybdenum, lead, silver, gold, tungsten, and tin are present in the area. Six mineralized areas are described, including Pass Prospect, Bonanza Creek, Ptarmigan Creek, Scenneva Creek, Bonanza Hills, and VABM Trail.
