This list of the vascular plants of Mammoth Cave National Park is combined information from three studies: a comprehensive list of trees made by R. P. Holland, ranger before the park was established; Henry Lix, park naturalist from 1946-1951, who made the original collection of most of the herbaceous plants (specimens deposited in the Smithsonian Institution with many of them duplicated in the park collection); and the author's collection which is deposited at the University of Louisville. Nomenclature is essentially that of Gray's Manual of Botany, Eighth Edition.
