A study designed to test the hypothesis that fishing can be improved by artificially improving the bottom of tidewater habitats. This study created oyster shell plots in Chincoteague Bay, MD, and compared them to control areas. Includes information on geography and hydrography of the study site, method of fish population check, sampling procedure, tagging, species of fish caught, planted versus control catches, variations within control areas and plotted areas, and discussion and conclusion.
