Four areas of study are covered: the extent and timing of the latest Little Ice Age (LIA) maximum in Northwestern Lagoon, the timing of the latest LIA advance and retreat in Aialik Bay, the age and magnitude of the penultimate great earthquake in Aialik Bay, and the retrieval of a sediment core from Shark Pond in Aialik Bay.
