This report summarizes available information on the quantity and quality of all sources of water in the Mammoth Cave National Park area and to evaluate the information for use by National Park Service engineers and planners. An analysis of water requirements was made. Summaries of potential water supplies are available in tables and narratives. An evaluation of all potential sources of water is presented in a table which gives the yield, chemical quality, advantages and disadvantages of each source. Each of these potential sources is then discussed individually in narratives and with tables which give chemical analysis of samples, drainage area, and discharge in cubic feet per second. Potential sources include the Green River, Nolin River, water from small streams, water in alluvium adjacent to Green River, and ground water in the bedrock.
