Prey of the introduced Bufo marinus on American Samoa

Twenty-six toads were collected from suburban and park areas of Tutuila Island (including Amalau of NPSA), and twenty-four others from rain forest areas. The specimens' stomach contents were examined and compared. Forest toads were larger and contained more prey than suburban/park toads. Forest toads had consumed more millipedes, whereas suburban/park toads contained more moths, caterpillars, and beetles. Suburban/park toads also had consumed termites, geckos, and dog food.
