This volume of proceedings summarizes the first symposium on research in Saguaro National Monument. The book is divided into five major sections: Part I contains papers pertaining to biology of the saguaro and closely related species; Part II concerns the monument's flora and fauna; Part III consists of papers regarding the effects of land use on monument resources; Part IV includes papers on air quality and pollution; Part V discusses long-term monitoring. In the final pages is a list of authors arranged alphabetically. Individual reports are entered separately.
