This report describes in detail the range and deer studies in progress over the last five years. Studies include establishing and reading line-point transects to determine ground and overstory cover; semi-annual browse plant growth and deer utilization checks; the installation of permanent pellet-counting plots and annual counts; and deer herd composition counts to determine adequacy of buck population for breeding purposes and the winter loss of fawns.
