Annual Year-End Progress Report of the Research Project on the Flora and Vegetation Ecology of Isle Royale National Park

Janke RA. 1979. Annual Year-End Progress Report of the Research Project on the Flora and Vegetation Ecology of Isle Royale National Park. Michigan Technological University. Houghton, MI

This report describes activities and results from the first year of a five-year research project. The main objective of the first year was to begin an inventory of all of the vascular plants of the park (the list now includes 729 vascular plant species for Isle Royale National Park). This project includes a determination of relative abundance and habitat preference of each species. Another objective was to study recent burns and blowdowns in order to learn more about conditions immediately following disturbance and the process of re-establishment of vegetation.
