One article within a collection of extended abstracts of talks which occurred during the conference presenting preliminary results of work in progress, in many cases, and reflect diverse points of view about the Cascades. This study focuses on two different scales of volcanism in the southernmost Cascade Range, regional and larger, longer-lived volcanoes. Within the Lassen National Volcanic Park area, there have been three centers younger than about 3 million years that have been recognized. Two older volcanic centers, the Dittmar and the Maidu volcanic centers, are in the latter category. The volcanology and petrology of both scales are focused on, and maps are also included to indicate locations.
