Proceedings of the Workshop of Geothermal Resources of the Cascade Range, Preliminary Report

Guffanti M and Muffler LJ. 1985. Proceedings of the Workshop of Geothermal Resources of the Cascade Range, Preliminary Report. Menlo Park, CA. May 22-23, 1985. Geological Survey, United States Department of the Interior

A collection of extended abstracts of talks which occurred during the conference. The abstracts present preliminary results of work in progress, in many cases, and reflect diverse points of view about the Cascades. The geometry and depth of magma bodies in the crust and their contribution relative to that from regional hydrologic circulation, to high heat flow in the Cascades received a great deal of discussion. Five articles focus directly on Lassen Volcanic National Park: "Previous Estimates by the U. S. Geological Survey of Geothermal Resources of the Cascade Range" by Guffanti; "Volcanism in the Cascade Range" by Blackwell and Steele; Quarternary Volcanism in the Southernmost Cascade Range, California" by Clynne; "Geochemical Features of Cascades Hydrothermal Systems" by Mariner; and Characterization of Geothermal Systems in the Cascade Range from Geoelectrical Studies" by Zohdy. (Each article mentioned above has a separate abstract within this Procite database, listed under author and/or title.)
