This trails database represents the maintained trails within the boundaries of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, plus a segment of the Colony Mill Trail just outside the western boundary of the parks. The data originated as DLG data created by the USGS and has received significant modifications since 1996. Modifications include both spatial changes, addititions and deletions, and significant attribute changes to line segments. There are unmaintained trails within these Parks that are maintained within a seperate GIS database and not currently available to the public. The trails database has been modified from its original format three times; first time was in 1996 and again in 1999, in 2003 and again in 2004. It should not be considered 100 percent accurate and does contain errors.
