The inventory objectives were: 1) to identify the networks of park trails used by mechanized vehicles, and 2) to assess ecological impacts of mechanized vehicles on existing trails. Trails were classified into three trail use categories or sampling strata (current or summer, historic, and seismic exploration). Data gathered included trail width, percent of trail braiding, slope, percent cover of bare ground, litter, and vegetation, ponding, ponding depth, subsidence, and identification of the vegetative classification for both affected and unaffected trail areas.
