The Southwest Raptor Management Symposium and Workshop, held 21-24 May 1986 at the University of Arizona, Tucson, was the first in a series of five regional raptor management symposia sponsored by the Federation's Institute for Wildlife Research. This symposium brought together 150 wildlife biologists, land managers, and administrators. The primary objectives in developing the symposium, to provide participants with useful, management-oriented information and to foster communication and information exchange among those in attendance, were met.
