Northern Colorado Plateau Network Bird Inventory, Pipe Spring NM. 1999-2004

From 1999-2001, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted breeding and non-breeding (winter and migration) bird surveys at Pipe Spring National Monument. Objectives of the study were: 1. Determine breeding bird species richness, relative abundance; 2. Determine bird communities and where breeding occurs; 3. Develop an avian long term monitoring program for Pipe Spring National Monument; 4. Produce a final report that will assist National Park Service managers in developing a resource management plan to protect habitat and the avifauna of Pipe Spring National Monument.
