This Standard Operating Procedure describes programming the automated recording devices (ARD) used by the SECN to monitor vocal Anurans and landbirds The ARDs covered by this SOP are the Song Meter device, developed by Wildlife Acoustics, Inc. The user manual for the Song Meter (Wildlife Acoustics 2011) must be read prior to use of these devices as a monitoring tool. Currently, the SECN uses Song Meter (SM) models 1, 2, and 2+.
