This sampling protocol is the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory - Monitoring Colorado’s Birds (RMBO-MCB) protocol written to National Park Service standards. The protocol is designed for long-term monitoring of breeding birds in sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, and riparian habitats using permanent survey transects. The protocol consists of this protocol narrative and the following standard operating procedures (SOPs): SOP 1: Before the Field Season SOP 2: Training Observers SOP 3: Using Global Positioning System (GPS) Units SOP 4: Establishing and Marking Sampling Plots SOP 5: Conducting the Survey SOP 6: Documenting Habitat Variables SOP 7: Data Management SOP 8: After the Field Season SOP 9: Revising the Protocol Narrative and SOPs Refer to the "See Also" section for a link to the SOPs.
