Avian inventory of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site: 2014 and 2015 summary report
Baranowski R and Filippini D. Avian inventory of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site: 2014 and 2015 summary report. 2014-2015
The Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN) conducted avian surveys at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site (SAHI) in 2014 and 2015. All on-site habitats (landscaped, woodland and salt marsh) were sampled, although established points were only sampled in woodland and salt marsh areas. Sample points were established based on existing sample points for the Mid-Atlantic Network’s (MIDN) Forest Vegetation Monitoring so that surveys could be easily repeated in the future. A total of 85 species of birds were observed during 2014 and 2015, including approximately 9 species of special concern in New York.
