Historic Structures Report, Part I: John C. Unseld Buildings (Bldg. 10 and 10a)
Snell CW. 1958. Historic Structures Report, Part I: John C. Unseld Buildings (Bldg. 10 and 10a). Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park preserves historic resources and commemorates the historic events that occurred at and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The park consists of portions of the Lower Town, the former Storer College campus, landscapes associated with the national historical park’s Civil War significance, and lands preserving the historic viewshed down the Potomac River. This historic structure report concerns the John C. Unseld Buildings (Bldg. 10 and 10a) in the Lower Town area of Harpers Ferry. The exterior of Building No. 10 is to be restored to the 1859-65 period. The report also suggests that the first floor perhaps be restored as the Great Southern Clothing Hall, a period exhibit of a ready made clothing store. The ruined wall of Building No. 10A is to be stabilized.
