The Rostrum addressed in this report is in the National Military Cemetery in the Antietam National Battlefield Site. It was constructed in 1879 as a speaker's platform and was used at the time of this report during the annual Memorial Day services and occasionally on other ceremonies. It was constructed mostly according to the standard plan, as prepared by the Quartermaster General's Office in November of 1878. This document contains a description of the architectural fabric, changes that have been made since its construction, condition, and work to be done.
