This report contains the historical data section of the Historic Structures Report for the Rostrum in Antietam National Cemetery. Since the structure was built in 1879, it has been the site for nearly all the memorial services held in the National Cemetery. In addition to the traditional May 30th programs, other commemorative occasions were held here during the 1880s and 1890s. The report describes architectural details, changes to the structure, and features of the surrounding area such as vegetation.
