Carroll OW. 1965. Historic Structures Report, Part III: Architectural Data Section on McLean Ice House, Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service
The McLean Ice House is one of the outbuildings that surrounded the McLean House in 1865. Reconstructions of the other structures begin to complete the visual scene and the interpretive story of the McLean House as it appeared at the time of the Civil War surrender. This report presents the historical, archeological, and architectural data that were gathered before and during the reconstruction of the McLean Ice House. The completion report for the project is attached, including the cost of construction items. Progress photos and drawings of the Ice House reconstruction are included.
