Historic Structures Report, Part III: Architectural Data Section on McLean House Slave Quarters
Carroll OW. 1965. Historic Structures Report, Part III: Architectural Data Section on McLean House Slave Quarters. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Eastern Office, Design and Construction
This report covers the physical work involved in the reconstruction of the Slave Quarters building, one of three outbuildings constructed during 1964-65 on the McLean House Property. The reconstructed building was intended to function as an exterior exhibit. The structure was based wholly on available sketches and a survey of log structures in the area, as few details were known other than its general location and that it was constructed of logs. This third section of the Historic Structures Report for the Slave Quarters summarizes the work completed during the reconstruction, with photographs of the construction process and drawings.
