Fire effects monitoring data collected at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (SLBE) in Empire, MI. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Indiana Dunes from 2017 - Present. Photographs are taken from the plot center to document change. Data are collected using variable and fixed radius plots as well as point intercept. Collected data include: tree inventory to obtain density and basal area (variable radius plot), seedling & woody stem densities (fixed radius plots), and understory plant percent cover and frequency using 25m point intercept transects and 1m frequency squares.
