This report was created to support the development of a long-term management plan for the Shaw-Hill Farm Site on Sand Island at Apostle Islands National Seashore. The historical data covers the period from 1870 to 1942 including, but not limited to, historical themes of fishing, the Shaw community, island social life focused on the site, and gardening or agriculture on the site. Management recommendations for the Shaw-Hill site and other former agricultural properties are included in a separate document. It includes biographical data, the Shaw-Hill family tree, maps, and photographs of the site.
