This report presents the findings of an examination of the exterior paints of the Custis-Lee (Arlington) House, conducted on June 6, 1979. This examination was to evaluate present conditions of the exterior finishes and to prepare recommendations for the cleaning, surface preparation, and repainting of the exterior. The examination found the exterior paint to be in generally sound condition with localized adhesion failure. It presents recommendations to address the problem areas.
