NCBN Submerged Habitat Mapping.
The National Park Service, in response to Hurricane Sandy, received funding to conduct extensive submerged habitat mapping and species inventory studies at four of its parks in the Northeast region ranging from Massachusetts to Virginia. Through a widely distributed call for statements of interest from CESU cooperators, four institutions were chosen to conduct this research. The park units mapped and the institutions responsible are: Cape Cod National Seashore – Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies Fire Island National Seashore – Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island Gateway National Recreation Area – Rutgers University Assateague Island National Seashore – University of Delaware
