This Historic Structures Report, Part I on the Principal Keeper's Quarters at the Cape Hatteras Light Station contains Administrative, Historical, and Architectural Data sections, all required for management to decide the future of the structure. It was proposed that the structure be restored and refurnished for use as a historic house exhibit to interpret the life of a lighthouse keeper. The sections of the report describe this proposed use, justify treatment by establishing its historic significance, and provide historical and existing architectural information.
