This report documents the Year 3 stabilization work undertaken at Natural Bridges National Monument in the spring of 1986, through which four sites were stabilized. The primary goal of the project was the continued preservation of the four sites and any remaining archaeological materials within. The stabilization tasks were designed to place each site in a structurally-sound condition and deter future deterioration. A total of 17 work days in March 1986 was utilized to complete the prestabilization and stabilization tasks for the project. As a result of the Year 3 work, 33 structures were stabilized. Most of the work involved the repair and replacement of deteriorated mortar, the securing of loose or unsupported stones, and the protection of exposed cultural material and wall bases. This document describes the Year 3 stabilization including site information, treatment, and recommendations.
