Recently, the National Park Service (NPS) developed the Bats Acoustics Survey Database as a repository to support park staff and partners conducting bat acoustic surveys for a variety of purposes such as bat species inventories, habitat use surveys and for contributing to broaderscale programs like the North America Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) (NPS 2016). In 2017, the NPS Biological Resources Division (BRD) in Fort Collins, CO worked with Managed Business Solutions (MBS), a Contractor to NPS, to compile individual files of Bats Acoustics Survey Databases, which were previously uploaded to the Integrated Resource Management Applications (IRMA) Data Store by parks and networks, into a SQL server. NPS BRD partnered with the Upper Columbia Basin Network (UCBN) and the Northwestern Bat Hub for Population Research and Monitoring at Oregon State University-Cascades, Bend, OR to synthesize and summarize results of the data available from 2012-2016 and provide recommendations to NPS for future program development.
