This project covers the proposed restoration of the Thomas Pate House and reconstruction of the grounds and associated outbuildings. The interior would contain the 1781 arrangement on the first floor of a store and residence and the second story would be adaptively restored for use as an employee residence. The Thomas Pate House was constructed in 1699 at the corner of Read and Main streets in Yorktown, Virginia. It remained a residence until 1705 when a store wing was added by the new owner, John Martin. It continued to function as a store-residence complex into the twentieth century. The report describes the historic and existing conditions of the structure, with recommendations for the proposed adaptive restoration.
