The Garage, Building No. 15 at the Glenmont Unit, Thomas Edison National Historical Park, was built in 1908-09 as a facility for storage and maintenance of Edison Family automobiles. As indicated in the Historical Data section of this report, Thomas A. Edison himself had a strong personal interest in its design and construction. Of reinforced concrete, it was a forerunner of the inventor's later and much publicized experiments in poured concrete building construction. Other known historical associations of the Garage are also noted. Rehabilitation of the garage is suggested so as to serve as public storage for historical vehicles, as well as to provide private storage space for the park.
